Our story

The resort

In the beautiful bushveld, the resort overlooks the Von Bach Dam. It provides Deluxe Bungalows, Luxury Chalets and Family Chalets, the fully licensed Daw Restaurant, a bar with stoop and an outdoor pool. Von Bach Dam Tungeni Resort is crafted only from ecologically clean materials to complement this beautiful wilderness setting. Located within a commutable distance from the capital city (just 65km north of Windhoek), our development is on prime land all set in a pristine natural environment that allows for privacy and offers the finest of luxuries and amenities. It provides a unique opportunity to live within the vicinity of the Von Bach Dam and a game reserve.

Staying here

Staying at the resort

Von Bach Dam Tungeni Resort has modern accommodation facilities and offers a relaxing and comfortable holiday experience in a natural setting. 4 Luxury Chalets, 7 Family Chalets and 11 Deluxe Bungalows, all non self catering. No braai, fire, gas or any form of cooking will be allowed at the pool or between the chalets except at the Adventure Centre or campsites on a designated braai spot. The reason being, our recycle water system is extremely sensitive to chemicals and food residue; plastics, wool and cotton will trap in the systems. Overnight guests can cool down at our private swimming pool.

On the Eastern side of the Von Bach Dam, at the campsites we have 20 comfortable sites available for the outdoor lovers. All campsites have running water, a barbecue grill, a shaded sitting area, rubbish bin and a shared ablution facility with showers (wooden donkey system) and flush toilets. Each campsite (6 pax) has its own boat parking bay.

Hiking trails

For the energetic traveller there can be no better way to explore Namibia than on foot. We offer unguided hiking trails catering for everyone from the hardened hiker to the inexperienced (but enthusiastic) couch potato. Most of the longer unguided hikes require a minimum of three participants and at present there is no system in place to pair single travellers up with other groups.
